Our Lifestyle and Beauty section aims to bring engaging and informative content tailored and curated for young Black women and women of colour everywhere.
Here you will be able to find how-tos, style guides and general information on everything from hair and beauty, to fashion and self-care, to fitness and travel. We aim to create an intersectional community of aspirational women all seeking to learn and grow. From discovering the right products for your hair type, the latest trends, makeup and skincare for your skin type and tone, and ways to understand and manage mental health, we provide a variety of content accommodated to our specific needs.
The contributions of Black women and women of colour in society, especially in lifestyle and beauty sectors, have been exploited for centuries, with our innovative methods and techniques becoming separated from their true creators as a result of erasure. Not here, sis. We aim to honour and celebrate the visionary nature and versatile beauty of Black women and women of colour, whilst rejecting the glorification of Eurocentric features and ideals. We embrace our wide noses, full lips and textured hair. We exalt our unique and unparalleled strength. We continue to leave our mark on the world.
Meet your Lifestyle & Beauty Editors
There has been a shift in the type of women that have been represented within mainstream media in recent years.
